Arkad Acquires Ahlers to Form multimac, a Group Specialized in Machinery and Service for the Food Sector

Berlin/Versmold, July 23, 2025 – Arkad Partners GmbH (“Arkad”) continues its strategic growth path with the acquisition of Ahlers Edelstahltechnik GmbH (“Ahlers”), a well-established manufacturer and service provider of special machinery and production equipment for the food industry. This acquisition strengthens Arkad’s position in food processing technology and expands its presence in a growing market segment.

Founded in 1995 by Stephan and Leonie Ahlers, the company has developed into a trusted partner for leading national and international food producers. With around 60 employees, Ahlers expects to achieve profitable revenue in the upper single-digit million-euro range in fiscal year 2025. The company’s portfolio effectively enhances that of Gröneweg Maschinenbau GmbH (“Gröneweg”), particularly by enabling access to new regional markets and broadening its market reach.

The Ahlers family will remain involved in the company and continue to help shape its strategic development. “With Ahlers, we obtained an innovative company with a strong market position and deep technological expertise. A central pillar of the growth strategy is the preservation and expansion of long-standing customer relationships. Existing projects provide a solid foundation and ensure a high degree of planning reliability. At the same time, Ahlers’ service operations will be further developed to meet growing demands in availability, maintenance, and technical support.

As part of the transaction, Gröneweg Holding GmbH has been renamed multimac Lebensmitteltechnik GmbH (“multimac”), which will serve as a platform for further acquisitions in food processing technology. The operating subsidiaries Gröneweg and Ahlers will continue to operate under their well-established names and maintain their independence within the group. The merger of the two operational entities results in one of the largest companies of its kind in Germany, with over 140 employees.

The sellers were advised on the M&A process, legal, and tax matters by Dr. Roland Tomik, Stephan Strothenke, and Thomas Sifft (Tomik + Partner) as well as Dr. Franz Tepper (BRANDI). The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial details of the transaction.
